Pasadena Pete

I thought Pete Vagenas' goal against DC was really nice, just perfect redirection.

Here's what Pete had to say after the game about that goal, among other things. He definitely looks at the bright side of an injury.

Hey Luis,
Thanks again for posting content like this. You do great work!! (even if you hate the Galaxy) ;p

That's a backhanded compliment - slamming Luis' professionalism. But I posted this. Because Luis has an assignment for MLSnet to write on the visiting teams, he doesn't usually get to the Galaxy locker room for quotes.

no one's slamming luis' professionalism... for the record, there is nothing wrong with hating the gals...

C'mon, that's like hating a certain restaurant, but regularly reviewing the food there. Luis is objective; he doesn't hate the Galaxy or any other MLS team.

Luis is "objective"? Coome on, that term is so outdated in journalism, I don't even know where to start.

Luis is a pro. I believe that even if he were to hate the Galaxy, he would still be fair. I don't buy this idea that sports journos have no allegiances, that they hate no team, that they are "objective."

The best sports journos are up front and then they go about doing their work.

That said, I, too, love your work, AC. And you are a major Galaxy lover... which is a whole 'nother story.

Saludos, d

why is it always this or that side (ie politics) both of you do a good job, providing us with news, audio, video, thoughts and interviews.

THANK YOU both

I hope Pete sticks around - he seems to be a funny down to earth heart at the right place guy - just a pitty he's paid royaly for little on the pitch service tough...

I'd like him to be integrated into the G's organisation in the future.

the goal was class, the pass by Donovan and the finish by Pete!

I guess to me fair and objective are similar. When I'm grading my papers that my students write, I do my best to hold them to the same objective grading scale, no matter how I feel about them personally. Invariably, a lot of the most charming kids are slackers. I may think they have great personalities who crack me up with their jokes, but if a paper sucks, it sucks. Same with a player or a team on the field.
