The 2007 SuperLiga Final between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Pachuca of Mexico is sold-out for Wednesday, August 29 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., at 8 p.m. PT. In partnership with California State, University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), capacity was capped at 12,500 to limit the traffic and parking impact on students in their first week of fall classes at CSUDH.No additional tickets will be made available to fans walking up on the day of the game at the stadium. Therefore, fans without tickets are encouraged to watch this battle for regional soccer supremacy and an unprecedented $1 million prize live on TeleFutura and SuperLiga2007.com

CSDH really messed this up, they should have struck a deal to allow more ticket holders for the game and maybe received some proceeds from those purchases, MLS could have promoted the school through commercials during the game. If traffic is an issue they could have used shuttles to bring fans in and out to ease traffic congestion. In other words, it would been nice to see a stadium full of fans!!!
Ah, the Galaxy, the clowns of the soccer world.
With this and the David Beckham debacle, they're chipping away at the MLS' thin credibility.

Reading the press, its amazing to see how much more (if possible) they continue to hurt themselves in the public eye by calling Beckham exhausted/burned-out instead of injured...makes the whole lot look even more like idiots. And the hope that Lalas will stop speaking even for a moment is a lost cause I guess...
An odd situation indeed. Hard to be too critical when parking spaces are being given up so that College Students can get an education.
I guess the real solution would be public transportation to the sports venue in question but it is California. Wonder how many students will consider majoring in Urban Planning after attending class during the game.

This is why I don't live in LA.
It's called global warming, use public transportation, ride a bike, walk, ride your skate...but oh no, we can't live without our cars. This is was all about parking spaces, what a joke.
Don't fool yourselves--they were never going to sell many more seats than that. Putting their hands up and saying "it's because of school" is a convenient way to explain a more than half-empty stadium.
First of all, I'm so glad I live in L.A. I can't live without my car. And if I didn't already have my tickets I might have made a snarky comment about the importance of a football final v. a CSDH education ...
I agree with Evan, though. This is not about college kids taking precedence, this is about tickets not selling well. I mean, they announce this on the 27th for a game on the 29th? Right.
